  • My Revan is not “canon” even in a Legends/EU context; Revan was originally a custom player character. If you mistake my Revan for 'canon' SWTOR Revan, such as misgendering them, I will end interactions. Read my pages. I'm only complaint to the end of KOTOR 2, and I'm highly critical of everything that followed. For more information, check out the portrayal notes.

  • I do not interact with non-mutuals. I am highly selective and slow to follow back. Whoever follow first, interacts first. Prompts or plotting is the best way to reach out, but you're free to just hit me up via DMs whenever. There's also an optional interest tracker form. If no interaction has occurred after the first couple months of activity, I will softblock. You are free to refollow after a softblock at any time.

  • I am primarily plot-driven. Threads won't go beyond a few replies without at least some plotting; I operate best with at least a rough framework. I'm also a yapper. If you're not interested in talking about our characters at some point, we're not well-suited to write together, and I will lose interest if I seem to carry the weight of conversations.

  • I've been working on my Revan and their associated lore for over a decade. Mucking around with canon and building out niche details is a huge part of that. AUs especially will alter and expand on canon worldbuilding. While information I deem pertinent will be posted and tagged with the au info tags, there is a larger gdoc of most major aus available on request.

  • Obligatory disclaimer that I write a dangerous & powerful character who can and will be violent and manipulative. Don't try to godmod/metagame, mun ≠ muse, etc.

  • Mature and triggering content will be featured, including: gore, cult dynamics, brainwashing, toxic relationships, and mentions of abuse and torture. There may also be mention of bsdm / kink subcultures and some sexual content. Please tag all real-life/photorealistic images of spiders and spider-like arachnids.

  • Revan is an intense and obsessive person and all dynamics with them have the potential to be messy or unhealthy. Romantic shipping is not a high priority and will only be considered after some rapport has been built ooc.

  • I have a personal dni list. You are free to ask about it at any time, but not obligated to. If you interact with my dni and we've yet to interact ourselves, I will softblock, but if we have some kind of rapport I will privately reach out to you beforehand.

  • I'm slow as hell with sporadic social activity. I also have less-than-great memory due to a variety of reasons, and offline obligations, my mental illnesses, and physical ailments can make me reclusive. If I drop off the face of the earth for a month or more don't worry about it. Feel free to give me a poke whenever to say hi.

  • I curate my space extensively according to my own preferences, including blocking some fandoms and content altogether. Most relevant here is that I block master/padawan (i.e obikin) and cloneshipping content; if you write these and I follow you, I simply didn't notice and request you block me.

  • Bigotry will not be tolerated. I’m just here for pew pew laser swords and I don't need messy or immature bullshit in my life. If I catch you on some shit or being mean or passive-aggressive I'll just block and move on.

  • All icons, edits, and graphics seen on this carrd and the blog are made by myself, with the following exceptions: some base icons were commissioned from asteriarph, and my current psd is an edited version of SABRINA by somresources. The pinned music is "The Alpha, The Omega" by Blood Cultures.

  • Everything posted on here is written or drawn by me unless otherwise stated. Do not lift my work like timelines and lore, do not repost my art. I am not here to be a springboard or a template, I am here to have fun yapping and writing and I am not interested in sharing my work with people who do not engage with me. If you use gen AI, fuck off.

\\ portrayal notes.

Revan was originally a player character with customizable appearance and gender (i.e. Commander Shepard in Mass Effect) and was later "canonized" within the Expanded Universe in the novel Revan released in 2011. This 'canon' Revan went on to appear in the Star Wars: The Old Republic MMO and is what many people refer to when talking about the character in contemporary fandom spaces. That is not my Revan. I take the old custom player character concept and stick with it.With that in mind, this page serves to:
    1. Lay out some basics about Revan's role in canon for people unfamiliar with them;
    2. Outline the more crucial divergences from swtor Revan and his lore vs my Revan,
    3. Explain relevant aspects of Expanded Universe lore that may contradict the newer Disney canon.

canon.

  • I pull from Knights of the Old Republic (2003) and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (2005), with some elements taken from the KOTOR comic run and the TTRPG campaign guide for the era. I do not acknowledge the book Revan (2011) or SWTOR's story elements featuring Revan (Foundry, Shadow of Revan) except for a relevant verse/au, and even then I apply things selectively. My Revan did not have kids with Bastila, and is not related to Satele or Theron Shan. I have a lot of contempt for the Revan novel and the version of Revan it created.

  • This blog loosely follows a standard light-side playthrough of Knights of the Old Republic. The reveal of Revan's identity to on Leviathan was mostly a surprise and they do not fully recover or reclaim their identity until well after the game's conclusion. In the final arc of the game's storyline, they convert Bastila back to the light, slay their former friend/apprentice Darth Malak in a duel, and help destroy the Star Forge and cripple their former empire.

  • In regards to the Revan novel, Darth Vitiate/Tenebrae had no direct influence over Revan and Malak during the course of the Mandalorian Wars and Jedi Civil War. Revan's fall to the dark side had nothing to do with any exertion of his power over them, and they never found Dormund Kaas nor encountered Vitiate face-to-face until after the end of Knights of the Old Republic.

  • Revan is a Firrerreo, a legends-based species with very limited lore for them. I've taken liberties to do my own world-building based off of that limited lore, and as Revan was taken to the Jedi as a child, not an infant (which was not uncommon at the time), they are partially shaped by their developmental years on their homeworld. Almost all lore regarding Firrerre and the Firrerreo on this blog is my own work.

worldbuilding.

  • Adhering to the prequel-era belief that one can't return from the dark side, Revan's 'return to the light' never makes it into the annals of history. The information was kept under wraps even in their own time, and many details of Old Sith Wars era are simply lost with the passage of time. Unless otherwise discussed, I maintain that it is believed by the Jedi Order through the High Republic and into the Golden Age/Clone Wars that Revan was killed by the jedi strike team that brainwashed them, and it was Bastila Shan who battled and defeated Malak at the star forge above Lehon.

  • I've shifted the timeline of the Great Sith War ahead by a decade or so, starting with the Beast Wars ending in 3989 BBY instead of 4000, and the ending with the Exis Convocations only being five years after the end of the Great Sith War rather than ten. This is ultimately changes nothing regarding progression of events, as my decision was motivated by a huge gap of lore & media between Exar Kun's stuff and the events around KOTOR, but I'm still making a note of it for the small minority of people here who read Tales of the Jedi.

  • Revan plays a central role in the origin of the conflict between jedi and mandalorians; they are the first in the order to lead a war against the mandalorians, and their decision to do so and the result of that conflict shaped their fall to the dark side. They are credited with turning the tide of the Mandalorian Wars and leading the Republic to victory. Their war also lead to the extinction of the Taung, the progenitor mandalorian species.

  • The Malachor that exists in current canon, as depicted in the season two finale of Star Wars: Rebels and other Disney-era media, is Malachor III. The 'Scourge of Malachor' occurred several centuries after the Battle of Malachor IV; it was Malachor III's close proximity to the ruined Malachor IV, brought about by orbit instabilities after the two separate activations of the Mass Shadow Generator, that made it an ideal location for a Sith temple, much like the one originally found on Malachor IV.

  • This is just on here because Lucas decided to retcon it, but Sith Lords can become ghosts. They're not true "Force ghosts" like Obi-Wan in the original trilogy, but many Sith used techniques to exist as some kind of spirit and exert influence on the world of the living. It does a lot to shape the Old Sith Wars era (thanks Freedon Nadd) so it's worth mentioning.

some additional notes.

  •  re: revan's name.  Revan goes by different names at different points of their life, but for (almost) all verses goes by Revan. Firrerreo don't traditionally use names except with those they are closest to — Ryllind'r is a cultural 'warding name' given to Revan when they left home and they live most of their life up to the Mandalorian Wars going by Rye, a nickname derived from a mispronunciation of their warding name. During the lead-up to the Mandalorian Wars, they are known as The Revanchist, and later, Revan, which is the name they keep after the become a sith and proclaim themself Darth Revan. During their brainwashed/amnesiac arc, they are known as Lyndris Artin, and prefer going by Lyn.

\\TIMELINE.

BBY = Before the Battle of Yavin (aka before Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope)

  ✦ prologue.

~3994 BBYA child is born on the planet Firrerre in the Outer Rim. Like many children of their kind, they are raised in a creche, hidden away from the eyes of outsiders until they can be deemed strong enough to protect themself.
~3989 BBYA Jedi Seeker arrives on Firrerre. Though he sees none of them directly, he speaks of several force-sensitive children among their ranks who may be brought to the Jedi Order for training if their family so chooses. A young firrerreo spies upon him and dreams of a life among the stars.
~3987 BBYIn a customary rite-of-passage, a young firrerreo scales a sacred mountain and is bestowed with their name, and with it, becomes whole.

  ✦ act i. [ ascension. ]

3986 BBY.The Exis Convocations are held on Exis Station. Jedi across the galaxy attend the summit to reflect on the devastating impact of the War of Exar Kun and shape the direction of the Jedi in the new post-war era.

On their return from the Exis Convocations, a Jedi Seeker once again stops at Firrerre. A would-be Revan is given the name Ryllind'r by their people and is brought to the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. After several tests, they are determined to be a good fit for training at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. Both the Enclave and the Temple on Coruscant become their home for many years to follow.

On Dantooine, they meet their best friend, Alek. The pair quickly become inseparable.
3981 BBYJedi Master and Archivist Arren Kae, later known as Kreia, takes Rye as a padawan. She is the first of many of the would-be Revan’s Jedi masters, and the one that they grow closest to.
~3977 BBYRye leaves the formal tutelage under Jedi Master Arren Kae and studies under Jedi Master Birdillaka, who makes regular excursions to worlds impacted by the Great Sith War. Rye begins to get directly involved in the fieldwork aspect of the Order's post-war restoration efforts.
3976 BBYRye and Alek meet Jedi Master Zhar Lestin on Coruscant, and begin to seek him out frequently for additional training.

Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders, who under the leadership of Mandalore the Ultimate had been raiding the Outer Rim, take the planet of Athir. The Mandalorian Raids, precursor to the Mandalorian Wars, begin.

3973 BBYA group of Mandalorians, led by Cassus Fett, razes the planet Cathar in a surprise attack as revenge for the Cathar people's opposition during the Great Sith War. Over 90% of the mostly civilian population is slaughtered in what will later be known as the Massacre of Cathar. A single Mandalorian warrior protests this and dies with the civilians they had wanted to save.
3972 BBYRye and Alek complete their padawan training and are Knighted by the Jedi Order.
~3966 BBYRyllind'r dubs themself the Revanchist and, with the help of Alek and some close friends, formally creates a sect within the Jedi Order that pushes for Jedi involvement in the growing Mandalorian conflict. They begin to amass a following of like-minded Masters, Knights, and Padawans, all calling themselves ‘the Revanchists.’ to denote their loyalty to Revan's campaign.

A number of corporations successfully bribe Republic senators into accepting the city-planet Taris into the Republic.

✦ act ii. [ honor and glory. ]

3964 BBYA group of Revanchist jedi led by Alek are captured by Mandalorian forces and brought to Flashpoint Station, where they are experimented on and tortured by Mandalorian scientist Demagol, who seeks to unlock the secret of force-sensitivity.

A secret sect of the Jedi Order known as the Jedi Covenant, a group dedicated to preventing the rise of another Sith Lord from the ranks of the Jedi, slaughter their padawans during their knighting ceremony as a precaution after experiencing a shared vision of their deaths. A single padawan, Zayne Carrick, survives and is blamed for the murders.

Mandalorian forces seize the Outer Rim mining world of Vanquo, a resource planet and defensive line for Taris, leading the Republic to declare war. The Mandalorian Wars begin.

Blaming them for Zayne Carrick's perceived fall, the Jedi Order disband the Jedi Covenant sect and begin pressuring other rogue Jedi sects (such as the Revanchists) to dissolve. The Council refuse to directly intervene and rescue the Revanchist jedi at Flashpoint Station.

With the help of Zayne Carrick, Alek and the other Jedi at Flashpoint Station liberate themselves and turn on their captors.

After the pair refuse to disband their followers, the Jedi Council issues a warrant for the arrest of The Revanchist and Alek. Alek adopts the alias 'Malak' in part of his disguise, and keeps the moniker through the end of the war.

The Revanchists investigate the planet Cathar and learn of the massacre that transpired through a Force vision. Taking the mask of the single fallen Mandalorian who opposed the slaughter, the Revanchist redubs themself as Revan and uses the tragedy to force the Jedi Council’s hand and allow for intervention in the conflict. The Revanchists join the Republic under the banner of the Jedi Mercy Corps.
3963 BBYThe Mandalorians invade the Republic in a three-pronged assault known as The Onslaught.

The Siege of Taris begins. The planet remains occupied by Mandalorian forces until the end of the war.
3962 BBYRevan is appointed Supreme Commander of the Republic Military by Supreme Chancellor Tol Cressa. With full access to the Republic's military resources, they begin development of a super-weapon to end the war.
3961 BBYThe Battle of Dxun results in a Republic victory despite heavy losses (10:1), pushing the Mandalorian forces back into the Outer Rim.

The Battle of Jagas Cluster results in a Mandalorian victory and Revan places a bounty on Cassus Fett, Mandalore the Ultimate’s aide-de-camp and top strategist, making him the most wanted man in the galaxy.
3960 BBYThe Battle of Malachor V results in the death of Mandalore the Ultimate at Revan's hand, and the destruction of the planet Malachor V at the command of their trusted general. Heavy casualties occur on both sides, but the Mandalorians suffer the worst of it, and Revan uses the authority of the mask of Mandalore to scatter the clans and reforges Mandalore the Ultimate's beskar into their own armor. The Mandalorian Wars end.

Revan and their forces depart for the Unknown Regions to pursue the last of the Mandalorian opposition and search for other threats to the Republic. Their general, who had activated the super-weapon which had destroyed Malachor V, leaves their side and returns to the Jedi Order to face judgement the High Council.

Revan and Malak discover the location of an ancient Ratakan super-weapon known as the Star Forge.

  ✦ act iii. [ paradigm. ]

3959 BBYa Sith Academy is built on the ruins of Malachor in secret for Sith Assassins and Jedi Hunters, both force-sensitive and non, to be trained for Revan’s purposes.

Revan builds HK-47, a custom Hunter-KIller assassin droid to eliminate political and military opponents without the need for a major military incursion.
3958 BBYRevan and Malak launch a surprise assault on the shipyards of Foerost, capturing most of the Republic fleet at the drydocks and declaring war of the Republic as Sith Lords.  The Jedi Civil War begins.

A formal, 'public' Sith Academy is established on Korriban to train new, force-sensitive recruits for Revan's empire. Promising students are occasionally 'disappeared' to their Malachor academy.

In the Battle of Telos IV,* Admiral Saul Karath bombards the surface of Republic world Telos IV as a test of loyalty to Malak, rending the planet uninhabitable and massacring its people. This widens the rift between Revan and Malak, as Revan had planned to capture the planet rather than destroy it.

During an altercation, Revan brutally mutilates Malak, resulting in the loss of his lower jaw. He is later fitted with a prosthetic.

3957 BBYThe Battle of Rodia results in a Republic victory and Rodian intelligence siding with the Republic, giving them a desperately needed edge in a war they see themselves losing.

Darth Revan is captured by the Jedi Order. The Republic and the Jedi Order send a strike team to infiltrate Revan's flagship and assassinate them. While Revan is dealing with the intruders, Malak senses an opportunity and opens fire on Revan’s ship and critically injures Revan. Jedi Padawan Bastila Shan, the only surviving member of the strike team, brings them to the Jedi Council.

In the custody of the Jedi, it is learned that Revan is suffering from some memory loss due to their injuries, and they have formed a Force Bond with Bastila in her attempt to save them. The Jedi Council make the decision to wipe their mind fully and implant a false identity in the hopes of learning critical intel needed to win the war against Revan’s empire.

Lyndris Artin wakes up in Republic hospital with tears in their eyes. They're told by the Jedi Healers overseeing the site that they're lucky to be alive.

  ✦ act iv. [ rebirth. ]

3956 BBYLyndris Artin is inserted as a crew-member of the Hammerhead-class Republic cruiser the Endar Spire under the command of Bastila Shan. They are ambushed above the planet Taris and escape to the planet’s surface with Republic officer Carth Onasi. With the assistance of a young twi'lek named Mission Vao and her wookie companion Zaalbar, they retrieve Bastila from confinement. Later, with the help of mandalorian Canderous Ordo and a protocol droid named T3-M4, they steal the ship the Ebon Hawk and use it to narrowly escape Malak’s bombardment of the planet’s surface.

Lyn and their crew arrive on Dantooine where Lyn is “revealed” to be a Force-Sensitive and “trained” as a Jedi, still unaware of their true identity. For their final test, they are sent to confront a fallen jedi named Juhani, who had struck at her master while influenced by the dark side. After a brief duel, they guide her back to the light and bring her back to the jedi, after which she joins their crew.

The Jedi Council sends them on a mission to discover the location of the Star Forge. They explore leads on Tatooine (acquiring their old assassin droid, HK-47, who also doesn't remember shit), Kashyyyk (joining up with a Jedi-turned-irreverent hermit, Jolee Bindo), and Manaan, tracking down pieces of a map to lead them to the Star Forge.

On their way to Korriban in pursuit of the final Star Map, Lyn and their crew are captured by Admiral Saul Karath. While they escape from imprisonment and kill Karath, they are forced to confront Darth Malak, who reveals Revan’s true identity. Bastila Shan is captured.
c. 3955 BBYForced to move on without Bastila and coming to terms with the new revelation, Lyn the crew of the Ebon Hawk, search for the final map to the Star Forge by infiltrating Revan's Sith Academy on Korriban.

The Battle of Ratakan Prime results in the destruction of the Star Forge, the rescue and redemption of Bastila, and the death of Malak at Revan’s hands. The Jedi Civil War ends.

  ✦ epilogue. [ aftermath. ]

3955 BBYAfter a closed-door hearing involving members of the Jedi Order and the Republic Senate, a still-amnesiac Revan (Lyn) is released into Jedi custody and is allowed to roam free so long as they remain a part of the Order. The extent of Revan's amnesia and their role in defeating Malak is never fully made public, and Lyn's relationship with the Jedi Order remains tenuous at best.

The crew of the Ebon Hawk formally disbands; Jolee returns to his self-imposed exile, but now wandering the galaxy; Mission Vao begins her own business venture, and Zalbarr is convinced to follow her, Bastila and Juhani return to the Jedi and support Lyn's new position in the Order, Canderous goes to reunite with his clan, and Carth returns to the Republic. HK-47 and T3-M4 stay by Lyn's side, but the crew remain in frequent contact regardless.

Lyn has bad dreams.
3954 BBYLyn and Canderous Ordo journey out of Republic space pursuing a thread of their memories of Revan, searching for the Mask of Mandalor the Ultimate. After its retrieval, the mask and the mantle of Manda'lor is taken up by Canderous, and Lyn leaves for the Unknown Regions alone in a quest to fully regain their memories.

They are not seen in Republic space again.

  ✦ main verses.

  i.  the mandalorian wars   As the Mandalorians invade the galaxy, the Republic teeters on the edge of collapse. The Revanchist promises to turn the tide of the war, no matter the cost.  ii.  the jedi civil war   Revan returns to the galaxy at large not as the Republic’s savior, but as its conqueror. With Malak at their side and a seemingly endless army behind them, all opposition seems destined to fall at their feet.  iii.  knight of the old republic   Lyndris Artin, Lyn to most, has vivid dreams about a dead sith they’ve never met, and runs around half the galaxy with the weirdest sense of deja vu.  iv.  post-kotor   Following the Battle of Ratakan Prime, Lyndris Artin is left to pick up the pieces of the world they thought they knew, and faces the consequences for what they cannot remember.  v.  swtor   Revan is freed from their prison and enters into a galaxy once again torn apart by war. Not compliant with with the Foundry questline nor any content from the Shadow of Revan expansion.  vi.  prequels-sequels   Revan is never freed from Vitiate’s prison and instead outlasts even the SIth Emperor himself, discovered millennia later by scavengers and accidentally freed from the Maelstrom. All threads with non-Old Republic characters are set in this verse unless plotted otherwise. [ read more here. ]

∗ clone wars.   A student of the late Sifo-Diyas, Rye's friction with the Jedi Order has a long and storied history, with their predilections for the dark side and their research of the Sith being a major concern. The outbreak of the Clone Wars, however, served to stymie any further conflict between them and the Council as like many of the peers, they were given command position in the Grand Army of the Republic. Rye has almost immediately proven to be a tactical asset to the war effort, and quickly rose to be a High General.

∗ lo, the seraph.   [ affiliated with @laesarus ] ⸻ Revan is the first Seraph to the Warmind RASPUTIN, his closest confidant and friend. There is none they put before him; not humanity, who they have sacrificed everything to save, not the Winnower, for whom they once dreamed of being made ever-sharp like the Witness. Not even the Traveler, the divinity to their oracle, the thing that calls them her oldest Speaker.Born in the decades before the Traveler's arrival in the Sol System, Revan rose to prominence in the Golden Age through their service and loyalty to the Warminds and a strong working relationship with the Ishtar Collective. Following the Collapse, they left Sol in pursuit of the Black Fleet, losing all contact with RSPN and humanity, succumbing to Darkness and calling themself a Disciple of the Witness. Their place by its side was ultimately short-lived; rather than serve it, they threatened to consume, and for that they were cast into the depths of the Black Garden, made prisoner and god by the Sol Divisive who became both worshipers and wardens.Following their rescue from the Black Garden during the Garden of Salvation Raid, Revan returns to their role as Seraph and steward and protector of humanity. They reshape the Last City, taking the reigns of leadership following the collapse of the Consensus and bolster its infrastructure and defenses.[ gdocs timeline available upon request. dont ask me what they're doing in renegades i haven't figured it out yet. ]

note:   for both TNG/DS9/LWD and the DIS/SNW eras, Revan's verse is essentially the same as it revolves around a major conflict, with the variety being in the conflict they participate in. [ yeah idk what to do for TOS or ENT yet. i'm thinking about it. ]While initially perceived as brilliant but green during the conflict outbreak, Revan's captaincy is defined by their charisma and tactical skill and they quickly rose in popularity both in and out of Starfleet as they were hailed as a war hero.Their successes were powered but a highly capable and tightly knit crew that grew increasingly dogmatic and held Revan with a cult-like reverence. When several crew-members reacted violently to reassignment pressure following the end of conflict, Starfleet was pushed to take a closer look at operations onboard Revan's ship and found the environment alarming.Under the guise of award and commendation, Revan was promoted to Admiral and transferred to the command of a new Starbase placed in a critical area along the Romulan Neutral Zone.

▹ klingon war.   Revan is one of the first proponents and eventual lead of the operation to plant a superweapon on Qo'noS. ▹ dominion war.   Revan was investigation in the early 2370's for suspected involvement in the Maquis Resistance, but results were inconclusive due to the outbreak of the Dominion War and the destruction of the Maquis. In addition, Revan worked closely with Section 31 to amass the resources personnel, including brainpower from those outside of Starfleet, in order to develop the morphogenic virus.

▹ the revenant.   [ affiliated with @shepcdr + @laesarus ] ⸻ Lyndris Artin, Lyn to almost everyone, has been president and chief operating officer of the Superhero Dispatch Network for years, and is perhaps best known for being one of the founders of SDN’s Phoenix Project. While their work has them facing the public often, their biography is a short one; Lyn, like many others, was a civilian casualty of the last stand of notorious fallen hero Revenant in 2010. Unlike many others, however, after their hospitalization they were found to have severe post-traumatic amnesia, and was unable to recover their former identity.Lyn, despite their efficiency bordering on ruthlessness, is known to be extremely personable and grounded, frequently traveling between branches as part of their effort to ensure the SDN is neither failing its clients or its staff. Some rumors say, however, that their former identity was as one of the Revenant's loyal followers, who had escaped capture due to their injuries. The reality is not far from it— Lyn is the Revenant, the notorious former hero whose work to protect earth was only surmounted by the threat they posed to the planet after their fall. They just didn't know any of that until a couple of years ago.[ still under development to a certain degree if i'm being real ]
